About Us

Lit Club NYC is a literary community for the culturally curious.

We bring readers together through curated gatherings in thoughtfully chosen spaces across the city. Every event is shaped by the belief that what you read matters, but where you read shapes the whole experience. Our venues feel lived in and intentional: wine bars with soft lighting, libraries that hum, restaurants that invite lingering.

Our programming ranges from intimate book clubs to quiet reading hours, themed literary dinners, workshops, screenings, and the occasional surprise moment that reminds you why New York is magic. Each gathering is an invitation to slow down, meet people who love ideas as much as atmosphere, and let great stories pull you deeper into the city and into yourself.

This is a community built on connection that feels both expansive and personal, like finding your people by accident on a weeknight. Wherever we meet, the goal is the same: cultivate space for curiosity, conversation, and the joy of reading together.

Meet Kelly!

Kelly Chervin is a Puerto Rican Jewish New Yorker who has always turned to books to make sense of life’s big and endlessly evolving questions.

A former English teacher, she went on to found a middle school in the Bronx before transitioning into her current career in ed tech. Her work is grounded in a deep belief in the power of stories to shape identity, build community and spark critical thinking.

Kelly is inspired by sociology, Sally Rooney and the kind of spaces where readers feel understood and challenged in equal measure. She is known for her sharp insights, generous spirit and unwavering commitment to creating environments where meaningful conversation can take root.

When she is not building community, you can usually find her strolling through Central Park with a book in hand, savoring a good martini and an even better debate.
